I am looking for a program to avoid the notorious activity editor and set up activites only with ai traffic - not that interested in switching. Should I buy Generator or Master?

AG can do this for you. All you have to do is load the template for your desired route, pick a source track and a final destination track with no intermediate work tracks. Voila! A through train, complete with all the AI traffic available in the template.

On the other hand, AM substitutes your personal rolling stock collection into any existing activity (including AG activities), obviating the need to hunt down rolling stock on the web. But other than changing out the stock and a few other things (start time, season, etc.), it does nothing to alter the activity. If the activity had switching before you modify it, it will have switching after you modify it.
