I have asked this question before but in a slightly differnt manner. Is it possible to create an factivity for The Richmond, Frederickburg, and Potomac that uses just default, or a minimum of non-default equipment. Most activiities I have tried call for a great deal of noon-default stock. Any thoughts or advice would be really appreciated.
Thanks and regards, Fred |

I have been able to change the required non default equipment with only default equipment in less than 10 minutes, create a new act with Activity Generator (AG)and ran the act with only default equipment. If not, I encourage you to get it. A great tool to complement Activity Generator. As a template maker, I try to bring balance between variety in rolling stock and keeping the required stock to a possible minimum to allow more users to use the templates. In this one there are only 9 required downloads, if I recall. With such a low number, you can change easily the stock with AM. It is easier to change the stock with AM than remaking a new template. The way to do it is this: with AM, open one of the two template ACT files (RFPNBTemplate or RFPSBTemplate), proceed with the changes with AM, using the REPLACE ALL option and also to include the unknown rolling stock. This is because some of the required rolling stock is considered unknown when setting the remplacement list. Once finished with the replacement to default files, you can generate your first activity with AG. taking in account your changes to the template file. Repeat with the other Template ACT file. Always be careful when changing the rolling stock and keep a backup of the original template files. Hope this helps -------------------- Denis Gionet
