In creating switchlist activities with SLG v3.1.1 using the above template I constantly get the following:

The activity starts with objects colliding although I use the default number of cars or less on Cobleskill yard which has plenty of space.

OR... the SLG window will pop an error message "Runtime Error "62": Input past end of file." When that happens it will not again generate a switchlist or even open for that activity. As soon as I click on the D&H template in the opening SLG window this error appears. The only way to eliminate it is to reinstall the template. I reported this same problem with the Sandpatch template some weeks ago but it has never been resolved by Skyline or the author of the template.

Dave,

I'm sorry to hear about these troubles.  The D&H Template was written by me, but it was designed for Switchlist Generator Classic and hasn't been rewritten for AG 3.1.1.  So it is very likely that you will have this problem.  When you downloaded AG 3.1.1 you also received SwitchList Generator Classic, you should use that program to generate activities for the D&H, unless/until one of us rewrites this template for 3.1.1.

Probably that's the reason for the runtime error also, though I'm not sure.

The Sandpatch template issue though is a different matter.  If you have the latest version (posted 1/16/2007), it WAS written specifically for AG 3.1.1 and it should work.  Norm Beveridge wrote that one and may be more help than I.  Can you tell me what specific problems you are having with that one?  Do you have the "input past end of file", or "objects in collision" or both?

The first thing to try if you have "objects in collision" is to generate with 0 cars initially in the player train.  Some of the starting points are in engine sheds etc. and don't have room for a full train.  If that's not it you can try a lower maximum number of cars per track in the "World Fill" settings screen.

Thanks and sorry about the problems!

Best,

Steve Davis
