MSTS Route--Rocky Mountain Div. East Options

Hello to all,

Lukas Lusser and his contributors have released today the above route, which is actually the RMD-1 and RMD-2 combined and updated, that is from Harlowton to Deer Lodge. He has also released railstock to go along with the route. I am downloading the route as I write to find out if it is suitable for a template. I believe it will be, since the latest route of the Milwaukee series, the RMD-1 had the sidings marked.

Work is also done on the rest of the route from Deer Lodge to Avery in the future.Not sure when but will be interesting to follow its progress which can be seen inthe TS forum.

A major change have been done to the timeframe and especially to the rolling stock that will be used in the route template, mostly in the NP templates

About the Northern Pacific line and roster, I have scrapped the NP SD45 because of the need to have two payware loads, although I was ready to accept two payware sets to use them. Instead I will be re-using the GP9’s, previously used in the RMD-4 template which needs only one payware. In addition to the Geeps, there will also be F7’s as the main power along the NP, found in TS.

Consequently, the timeframe will be rolled back in the early 60’s, during the pre-sd45 era. Except for two of the downloads that were required for the RMD-4 template (milw_e47.zip and the milwhvy2.zip ) the downloads used for the RMD-4 will be the same in the present template.

In addition to the present stock and following some time spent looking at some videos and pictures along the electrified line, 40 and 48ft tankers, 40 ft airslide hoppers and 53ft flat cars of the era will be added, not to forget gondolas with various loads. MILW electric Boxcars with the 60’s era livery will replace those used in the RMD-4 template with the 70’s livery. To finish the list, both complete trainsets (found in TS) of NP’s North Coast Limited and the MILW’s Olympian Hiawatha will be part of the package as you can see here in the following picture.



That makes the total number of downloads to 24 (22 in TS and two in the Mophouse forum (both NP GP9’s). That may be a little more than I usually set but since there is expected to have the rest of the electrified line released in the future, the downloads are expected to remain the same, minus the three downloads used for the BA&P line which may be absent for the other sections. With more than 400 miles of electrified trackage, I feel comfortable increasing the list and maximize the route’s potential.

I will continue exploration of the route before putting my first template marker.
