Hello,
I have just started using AG so I have no doubts that I am not up to speed yet. That said, I am attempting to create an activity on NEC4 that would take me from the NS yard just south of Philly (can't remember the name at the moment; Penrose I believe) where I have constructed the train in the yard tracks. The route takes me south setting out and picking up along the way as far south as the Chysler Plant. I then return to the NS yard where I uncouple the train with the pickups and the activity eneds. My question is this; is the final setout at the yard considered a setout in that the yard tracks would be checked in the "Check the Regions or Spurs you'd like to work (pickup or setout cars)"? Could AG assign a pickup at that final stop in the yard? My goal is to just uncouple the engines (a setout) and have the activity end at that point. Hopefully some of this makes sense. Thanks for any insight. Gary |

Hi Gary,
If you're using AG4, you would choose among the available "destination" tracks (as opposed to the source and work tracks) for your final set-out. Since you're designing a turn where the train departs from and returns to the same yard, the yard track(s) you use for your final destination must be different than the ones assigned as source tracks. Thanks Uncle E,
I fired up AG and saw the final destination site. But now I have another problem; I just installed v.4.2.2. I have set everything up cor6rectly (I believe), but I get the following error message after naming the activity: Missing File: "Preamble.dat' Aborting I used an earlier version to generate an activity successfully. This error has cropped up since installing the latest version. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks, Gary Gary, Well, there's supposed to be a preamble.dat file in the master folder (at least there is in mine). Open your AG master folder (it might be called Switchlist Generator) and see if there's one in there. If not, or if there is one and you still get the error, you'll have to contact Steve for more guidance. Uncle E |
