Hi to all,

The Utrera-Moron route template, my first Spanish route template, has been done and tested successfully. 11 downloads only needed, all from trensim.com, the spanish MSTS site. I had some serious coupling issues with the rolling stock.I was not able to couple and took me a few hours to discover the problem. Some of the rolling stock installation give you the choice of automatic or chain installation. Make sure all stock coupling is chain and not automatic. Using Route riter (or editing the WAG or ENG file) will allow you to change,if necessary the type of couplers all to chain. Bounding box and coupler settings will need some adjustments also.

The Utrera-Moron is a non-electrified 40 km route including a 15km branch to El-Arahal. The template package will be composed of two local runs with return paths, about the same as introduced earlier this year with the Jaskisér-Nagybereg route. The Player engine will be the RENFE 2115, an ALCO-type diesel engine which deliver 2000 hp Two other templates, each about working the Utrera and the Moron yards, each one with a different engine to work with. The Utrera Yard template, engine, a T6-type switcher has about 550hp and the smaller Moron yard will have a 150hp small switcher to work inside the 6-siding yard.

Some AI traffic will be available but will be limited. For the yards, it will be recommended to have your switching settings to manual and signalling to permissive.

One new feature I am introducing with the present template is the addition of two cab files to the RENFE 2116 and RENFE 305 engines. Both engines are not bin compatible. I have been able to create two new cab files, having the same filename but in addition using the suffix _rv after the original files and editing the cvf files, changing some numbers to allow both engines to switch cabs from front to back. Both engines have the default GP38 cab. Such addition should not cause copyright issues since no change were made to the original files. Those who remember the Proba template, WAG files created from ENG files to make unpowered locos were created with Route-Riter and was confirmed not creating copyright issues. As an optional alternative, I have changed the cab of the RENFE 305 to the Generic Sx Cab files (found at TS) and those of you who have the BLW ALCO sound pack will enjoy using them for both the 2115 and 305 engines, if you can make the change. Both are alco-type engines.

Here are shots of successfull AG-generated activities and introducing the three player engines being part of the pack.

Will start on the readme file before sending to Steve the package.

Enjoy

RENFE 305 550hp T-type switcher

RENFE small 150hp switcher

RENFE 2116 alco 2000hp engine

Hi to all,

I would like to add an important detail for those who will download the template package.

Due to the limited number of downloads for the required template package, I had to select some older downloads. I have noticed, during testing, that the locos had to use more power than what is usually necessary to pull or push their respective load. I have found out that some of the older stock physics have a higher friction level. I have tested them while running at 70kmh and found out that some cars, when uncoupled while moving, tend to decelerate very fast while some others tend to seperate slowly from the rest of the consist, meaning that deceleration is low and friction is low as well.

Since most of us are not as familiar with MSTS physics, there is another way to offset the friction effect of some cars. With ConBuilder (CB) or by editing the ENG file, it is possible to increase the engine power. I am suggesting to add 50% of additional power to all three player engines. Some screenshots of CB are included in the readme file to help the user in changing the power level.

For the RENFE 10101 from 150 to 225hp
For the RENFE 305: from 550 to 825hp
For the RENFE 2115: from 2000 to 3000hp

Other question for my colleagues, I would like to recheck if in Spain, they were actually using Brake vans to their consists. If so, were they still required in the 70's

Thanks for your help

Hi there Denis,

Thanks very much for this Template. I have downloaded it and the necessary rollingstock. I have a question; is there supposed to be some consist files included in the Template? Or have I mucked something up in running the template? There were no consist files in the consist folder and nothing shows up when I use Trainstore.

I also thought I'd let you know about two other routes that have been about for a while but are really really superb. They are the Swedish route: NMJ "Nåttebo-Mellefors-Järnväg" (website http://msts.pointclark.net/msts/NMJ.v.1.0_..._the_route.zip) and the Danish route: DE NORDFYNSKE JERNBANER (NFJ - OKMJ – OMB (Ep. III) that I downloaded from Oldtimerklubben.dk. They are superbly detailed although my favourite is the Danish route. Alas, there are few activities avialable and this might be another route crying out for your Template magic.

Thanks agian for your tremendous efforts in bringing us these great templates.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Cheers
Damo

Hi Damo,

Oops.... forgot the consist files during my last packaging of the files. Will resend to Steve the package plus the consist files included. My mistake here.

Thanks for letting me know

Cheers

Denis

The updated package with the missing consists is now available for download. Steve has uploaded it this morning.

Damo, I will be checking the proposed routes to see if they could be future candidates. Thanks for the tip. I am finishing one template package for my first Polish route, the Krynica. I will be posting later this week for details. Hope to have the template package available in a week or less.

Enjoy
