hello, any plans to update the marias pass 3.1 template to use the latest activity generator? thanks. Yes, I probably will. You can still use it with SLG v 1.6 though which is included with your Activity Generator. Or, get the GN HiLine which is basically the same thing, ultra-realistic. If I don't get to this soon, any volunteers out there to do it? Thanks, Steve -------------------- Steve Davis

I had combined the paths from Marias Pass and Marias Pass 3.1 to incorporate templates for both directions and learned much on fixing broken paths. With the end of the year coming up, it will probably take me a few weeks to finish this one up. Jim |

I will say though that my experience has been that it's much easier to simply create new paths than to fix broken paths. Good luck and let me know how/if I can help! Thanks, Steve It was more of a personal challenge to merge some of the paths from the template for the default route into the MP 3.1 route template. Jim |

I have the Westbound Template complete. Right now I am running some test activities with the paths. So far so good. If there are any volunteers that would like to also start using the template, please email me. I can then send you the templates as I feel comfortable that they will work. A bit of background on them for those interested. I basically used a combination of Steve's default and MP31 templates to create these. I made a few changes to the consists, paths ,cars used and added the Westbound Template. My ultimate goal is to overlay these into the templates for the default Marias Pass as well. The routes are pretty much the same with the exception of some minor changes in track configuration.

Wonderful, thanks for the progress update! :-) Steve I have completed the templates for Marias Pass 3.1. As soon as I finish the documentation, I will forward them off to Steve. It should be towards the end of the week (12/28/2007). There were some minor changes made from Steve's original template. A westbound template was added and some of the paths were changed to work better with MSTS Bin. The consist names were modified a bit as well. I did this to cut down on the number of the consists used between MP 3.1 and Marias Pass (USA2) templates. Since the activities can pretty much be overlayed into the original, I will update the original as well within the next few weeks. Jim |

WONDERFUL!!! I had meant to ask earlier what rolling stock you were planning to use. So, what rolling stock did you use? AI trains were left the same as the original template. I just renamed those since the plan is to use them as well in the Marias Pass (USA2) templates. Also, the cars listed below will be used in the default route. I used the following (all from Train-Sim.com): bn_wchip.zip - Collection of BN and GN loaded and unloaded wood chip cars. pnw_cb1.zip - Collection of Pacific Northwest Centerbeam cars. They consist of wrapped loads, bare lumber, and tie loads. nbnsfhop.zip - Collection of BNSF covered hoppers. 5pak8.zip - Collection of 48'Funnel Flow tank cars. milgrn4.zip - Collection of Milwaukee Road grain hoppers. ( I figured they would fit in since I still see Milwaukee lettered cars here in my area quite often.) gvsr3bay.zip - Golden West Service ACF 3-Bay Hopper. Jim |
