Hi to all,

I have finished a new template for a third British route, the Looe Branch. The Looe Branch is located in the Southwestern leg of Britain.

Some additional details about the history of the Looe Branch:

The Liskeard and Looe branch line has its origins in a canal built to take limestone, sand and coal from Looe for the local agriculture, and copper and quarry granite to Looe for shipment. The canal was replaced by a railway which, built to the standard gauge, was entirely separate from the then broad gauge Cornwall Railway. The independent railway was connected to the main line at Liskeard which, although only three-quarters of a mile from Coombe Junction as the crow flies was some 205ft higher. This resulted in a connection between the two railways by means of a link of just over two miles in length climbing at 1 in 40 through 180 degrees. The line was taken over by the Great Western Railway in 1922.The railway follows the original canal, sometimes built on top sometimes along side, it shares the East Looe River valley with the local roads and the main road from Torpoint, and the river itself. The line is still in use today, and is well worth a trip down to the lovely Cornish seaside town of Looe.

The route is about 8 miles long and to enter the branch from Liskeard, the train must descend to Coombe and reverse its way towards Looe as seen in a close-up of the area of liskeard-Coombe. There are 15 serviceable sidings to work on.

The era for the template is set in 1959, the year class 22 diesel engines began their service along the Looe Branch. The main player engine is a Class 22 engine (also refered as a Baby Warship) in British Rail livery. The only goods delivered along the Looe Branch for the template are clay and fish products.

9 downloads are required, including 5 for the route, 3 for the stock and one for the Readme file, all from UKtrainsim.com (Premium account recommended for instant and fast downloading)

Configuration of the route requires the trains from Liskeard, to descend towards Coombe and reverse its way to Looe, as you will see among the included screenshots. Unfortunately, the player engine is not Bin-Compatible. However in the readme file, a suggestion to have your #6 view improved to be able to look ahead (like the #6 view for those who have the Swiss Bernina route)

Here are some shots including some of AG-Generated activities

Will update later

Enjoy,

Hi to all,

The UK's Looe Template has been sent to Steve for uploading. In the meantime, here are some additional shots of AG-generated activities.

Enjoy,

Hi to all,

I have sent to Steve an updated package for the Looe Template. Here the details:

In the modified package for the Looe template, addition of a second cabview file (gp38_rv.cvf) inside the player engine CABVIEW folder will allow the Bin to change the player engine cabview from front to back. The readme file has been updated also to reflect this change. Since this is a new file and no modifications were made to the original files of the player engine, no copyright violations.
