Hello to all,

Earlier this year, BLW has released the MKT pack and was well received by many MSTS users.

Many screenshots were posted in the TrainSim site and the route on which were taken the shots made a great combination, to some users in the TS forum.

I liked the combination myself and decided to make a template combining the route and the MKT pack.

Any idea of the route yet?

It is VSC'S A&O Sub route.

Tonight André Ming, the route creator, gave me permission to release small updates to the route to accomodate the latest template package. A big thanks André, much appreciated

I have started to work on the templates earlier this week and are now completed as of today.

I am willing to have it released in the templates page if there is some interest in it.

If so, It will be recommended to install separately the A&O route as a mini route installation and install the template package and the required downloads.

It can still be possible to install the package in your current TRAIN SIMULATOR folder containing the route and overwrite some of the fourteen (14) track database and world files. However, it will be not guaranteed the A&O default activities coming with the route will work properly. This is the reason behind the suggestion to have everything installed separately as a mini-route (as a second installation) if you wish to keep the original route and activities intact in your default Train Simulator folder.

For those interested to install in their current folder, the original route and world files modified to accomodate the current template will be available in the template package. If the user wishes to restore the route back to its original settings, he will simply unzip the fourteen (14) modified route and world files, overwriting the modified files and restoring the route as it was before the change. However, this will render the template package unusable if restoring the route. To reactivate the template package, simply reinstall the template package.

In this part of the MSTS world, the A&M railroad has been bought by MKT and the A&O Sub has been renamed the MKT Sub.

Here are some shots of some SLG-generated acts showing some of the player and traffic engines being part of the package.

Will wait for replies if any interest.

Thanks!

As the A&O lends itself to so many locales, I think this is a great idea, not just MKT, but other roads could be done as well. Thnk you, looking forward to the MKT Template.

Hi Denis- while we are patiently awaiting the Buffalo route and templates, I wish you would consider another British template (route of your choice) as the Burton Derby is one of the most complex and interesting activity routes I have come across. I have spent HUNDREDS of hours on this route and still find new twists every time I go back into it. You did a tremendous job on that one and I think another one would be a feather in your cap. Just a thought....Ted

Hello to all,

Thanks for all the comments and interest for the project. I will upload it once ready to the templates page.

In the total there are five templates, two (2) mainline (EB,WB), one YARDS, one LOCALS and also one CITYXTRA, the latter one is simply a direct run between both the main cities, Urbanette and Berryville in both directions. Some of the templates are simple, others are longer to run and more complex but overall it will be enjoyable to run them.

In the meantime, here are shots from three successfull activities from AG, the first four (4) comes from work in Eureka Springs, the following two (2)is from the CITYXTRA template and the last five (5) is a LOCALS work from Seligman to Walden with a return trip to Seligman.

More later,

Hi again,

Continuing testing the pack.

Here are additional shots of successful acts from the EB mainline and the remaining from the YARDS at Urbanette. At Urbanette, 20 cars were moved in and out of their locations. It took 70 minutes to do the work. Lots of fun for those who like switching.

Will update later

Hello to all,

Just to confirm that following testing of the whole package, Benny my has given me the green to have the template package released in the templates page. On my side, I am satisfied of the testing results, seen in the images posted.

I will write to Steve later to send him the package to upload to the templates page.

Again, I would like to say a big thanks to Andre Ming (aka Coonskin in TS), the creator of the VSC'S A&O Sub route for allowing me some minor changes to the route to accomodate the present template package.

Also thanks to Moe Smith (dispatcher) for creating an updated map system, reflecting the changes for the template. To finish, thanks Benny for your help with testing.

The user is expected to see the following image in the templates page

Will confirm once uploaded
