I've looked and looked but I can't find the CVS flies. I can only find ASV files. Where are they? I really want to start editing current activites.
Thanks |

The .csv files are in the ACTIVITIES folder of the route. Modifying the .csv files will affect the template itself, not individual activities. If you want to edit activities, then you need to look for the SLG-*.act files. Be careful, however, about modifying the template .act file, because it also will affect the template itself. The template activity has the word TEMPLATE in it. If you truly want to modify the .csv files, I suggest that you back them up first, just in case. -------------------- Norman

Thanks Can you tell me a little more about what you're wanting to do? If you want to CREATE activities using Activity Generator, you first install the template(s) for the route(s) you want to create activities for (go to the "Templates" page on this site to get those), then, open Activity Generator and click "Choose Activity (CSV) File" and go to the route folder of the route you want to generate activities for. Next in that folder open the "Activities" folder and you'll see a list of the Template creation files or .csv files. Click on one of those to open it and tell Activity Generator how you want it to generate your activity. If you're talking about taking a route or activity for which there IS no template, Activity Generator can CREATE the .csv files you need, but the process is a little advanced. To create the CSV files click on "Create and Modify Activity Templates (CSV Files) near the bottom right of the Activity Generator screen. I advise you to read the manual on creating templates and watch our video tutorials on the "Video Tutorials" page if you're interested in doing this. Okay. Stupid me! I ended up screwing up my whole MSTS program trying to edit an activity. I'm not sure where my original MSTS CDs are. Is there a place online where I can purchase and DOWNLOAD MSTS????
Thanks |

Thanks I know you can purchase MSTS but I'm not sure you can download it. No matter, I think you can solve your problem much more easily than that. There is no way editing one activity can trash all of MSTS. If you are really stuck, delete that activity (the .act file). If that doesn't work there are several options, all easier than deleting everything and reinstalling MSTS. 1. Use TrainStore, and store the route you were working on. Then unstore it but without the activity that was causing problems. TrainStore is free at www.train-sim.com OR 2. Use RouteRiter or ConBuilder to identify any bad or missing files associated with this activity or your whole Train-Sim installation. Links to these programs can be found on the 'Recommended Links" page of the Skyline Computing web site (this site). I think you'll be ok with one of these approaches. If you'll tell me just what exactly happens when you start MSTS I might be able to be of more help. Thanks, Steve -------------------- Steve Davis
