Bob Wirth has released the ATSF Hereford Sub route. This will be my next project, since the L&HR templates are essentially finished.

Wow! The raw count of car spots for this route is about 13000. Yes, thirteen thousand. MSTS will allow only about 600 rail cars before it chokes, so if any user chooses to run "coast to coast" most of the tracks will be empty. I expect that probably the usable car spots will be a little under 10000, but that will not help much. My recommendation will be that users stick to shorter paths.

Okay, here is the actual count -- 565 tracks with 10753 car spots.

Template is progressing nicely.

Since both Clovis and Amarillo hold thousands of cars and MSTS can accommodate only about 600, the template will bust up these yards into several areas, so that activities using paths through these regions (most will) will not end up devoid of rail cars in the other areas. We've done this in other templates, and it can work well if planned carefully -- after all, you don't want the yard to be empty either!

We have discoverd that three files which were used in this template are no longer available. I have already found replacement files, but it will be sometime next week before I can complete the changes and send the revised template files to Steve.

Not yet. I have the alternate files, but then recently the missing files were supposed to be returned to the Mophouse file library, so I hesitated. So far they are not there, so I will work on the replacements next week.

Thanks Norm for the reply. I don't need the RI cons as I had them anyway. I keep running file on all stock that I download. If I knew what the ATSF engine were I could replace them with something similar. Greg

One was a EMD GP7 or 9 and the other was an Alco RSD5, as I remember. At any rate, anything of that type would do.
