Gidday all,
I stumbled across the Pahusett River (Beta) route the other day and am amazed at the standard of this "Beta" route. It is fantastic!
The author has done a marvellous job and by his own admission has detailed what he would like to improve on.

Just wondering if the talented template writers amongst us (obviously I'm not one!) reckon this route is worth a stab for developing a template? C'mon Denis, I know your always up for a challenge!

Cheers mates,

As the route stands right now, there are too many blank sidings and spurs. No names or markers.

I have been working with the author on this route. We have changed a lot of the sidings to reflect markers and siding names to accomodate a template. I have a set of schematics ready for publication for the route. I am just waiting for the author to release an update. That should happen very soon. There is a significant addition to the route as far as new trackage is concerned. With all the changes, it will be a great little route to run a template. I have also been amassing rolling stock for this route and template. A little wait is necessary. As soon as the update is released, I will start working again on the template.

Hi Moe,
Thanks very much for your reply mate. Great news that there is a template in the wings! I'm more than happy to wait for the upgrade and subsequent release.
Have a good one.

Hi to all,

Moe has asked me to take over the construction of the template, being busy with multiple map schematics. Glad to accept the challange and thanks Moe for the privilege!

I have done an explore run and have liked what I saw. It is well done and Moe has contributed in the making of the route. It will be a very interesting template to enjoy once done. Only 30 miles of track but not short of work along the line. Many sidings to service. So the Pahusett route is now among my oncoming templates. Suprisingly, many of the rolling stock downloads will be the same for those who have used the UP Clinton template.

But first, I will be working on the Green River template before starting Pahusett.

Gidday Denis,
Just wanted to say a BIG thanks for your ongoing concerted efforts to build these Templates. I'm really looking forward to both Pahusett River AND DRGW Green River.

Hello to all,

Just to confirm that work on the Pahusett template has started last week and is now mostly done. It includes NB, SB, LOCALS and YARDS templates. Close to 100 sidings to service.

I will start testing the whole package and am including the first screenshot of the first SLG-generated activity.

Will poste more images as testing progresses.

Hi to all,

Here are a first set of screenshots, one from the LOCALS and the rest from the SB templates

Bringing two BNSF engines to the Grant Locomotive works at Ferndale.

I have created, with Route Riter, dead BNSF engines (SD40-2, GP38-2 and Dash 9) to allow pick-ups from the South Chenowaukee Yards to the Grant locomotive Works for maintenance. This was ever done only once before in all my previous templates, that is from the Romanian Proba route template.

The dead engines (beginning with a $) will be included in their respective train folders for this purpose

Here are the rest from the remaining SB template

On that last one, you notice the caboose with the Pahusett logo. I have created, from the default us2caboose file this former BN caboose in which case Pahusett River RR purchased from BNSF and patched it with the Pahusett logo..

The cab zip file will be included with the template package but will not be part of the templates. If some users want to add the caboose, they could simply install it and select it as a caboose (with AG) in the Change engines feature.

That's it for the time being and testing is continuing.

More updates later

Some screenshots of the NB successfully done. Some work at Riverbend, Hanlon, Kenwood, Halberstad and the final destination for South Chenowaukee Pocket Yard #4. It took about 1h25 minutes to complete. One passenger AI is scheduled to leave South Chenowaukee ( or McKellen for the SB) at 10h45. That will allow the player to prepare the meet or to save his act before (just in case)

Adjustments are being done to refine the package and overall everything is going well.

More updates later.

More screenshots, this time from the LOCALS template. The photos are at Karsten, McKellen and Pahusett.

There are Eleven (11) downloads in addition of what is included with the route.

Toggling the switching to manual and the signalling to permissive will be recommended for all templates

The prime movers along the main line are the E10B electric engines (NB & SB) while the rest (YARDS and LOCALS) will be mainly with the SW-1200's because of increased access and extra power.

More later

Hi to all,

Just to confirm that the templates are finished. I have sent to Steve the whole package to be uploaded in the templates page later.

Here some of the last screenshots from testing

I have included Moe Smith's updated map files to replace an earlier set he has done for the route. Thanks Moe!

Be on the lookout for it soon.

Hi to all,

Greg (ideaman) had noted a missing SB traffic service train while testing the template with Route Riter. I have found the problem. It actually comes from inside the PahusettSBTraffic2.SRV file which indicated the following in the SRV file:

SIMISA@@@@@@@@@@JINX0v0t______

Service_Definition (
Serial ( 1 )
Name ( PAHUSETTSBTraffic2 )
Train_Config ( PAHUSETTNBTraffic1 )
PathID ( PAHUSETTSBTraffic2 )
MaxWheelAcceleration ( 0 )
Efficiency ( 0.75 )
TimeTable (
StartingSpeed ( 0 )
EndingSpeed ( 0 )
StartInWorld ( 0 )
EndInWorld ( 0 )
)
)

On the italic line above, you can see that the number is "1" and not "2". That's the reason of the error message. I have replaced the "1" by "2".

I have included as an attachment the corrected SRV file. Simply replace in the SERVICES folder the old file to correct the issue.

I will wait a little longer before sending the updated template package to Steve in case of other additional issues.

Let me know if something else. Thanks Greg!

Hi again Greg!

Have found it during the time you wrote this message. The reference to the PahusettSBTemplate.ACT file about the TRAFFIC1 still was causing the message.

I have edited the file and have eliminated the reference to the Traffic 1 SRV file.

I have re-tested in RR and looks OK now.

Included is the updated ACT file this time. It should work now

Thanks again Greg!
