I have just purchased Activity Generator. One of my reasons for doing this was to make activities for Australian routes which currently have very few or no activities available. I am very disappointed the see that the three templates which are available for Australian routes are all for outdated versions of the particular route.

Has anyone any comment on this?

Hello David,

Thanks for the interest with the Australian route templates and with Activity Generator. All the templates you see in the templates page were done by users of AG and shared voluntarily with the Skyline community, without being paid for the time and efforts that were put in them. And it is a long and complex task making each one.! And it is even more challenging when working on international routes as many of us are not as familiar when it comes to learn the railway systems and rolling stock of other countries.

As one of the users of AG ( since 2007) The three Australian route templates I have made were done between 2007 and 2009.

The first has been for the Adelaide route, then the Illawara 2 and finally the NSW Southern Highlands route. The Adelaide 2 route template is for the route ( I believe) currently available on the steam4me site.

For the Illawara route, although the route has been updated ( or extended ) to version 3, I believe the one that has been done for v2 can be used on v3. Unless some of the template paths are corrupted, the template could be used on v3. That you could check it out. Once the template ( v2), the route (v3) and required rolling stock are installed, you can have it checked with RouteRiter if some issues with some of the template files.

For the NSW Southern Highlands route, I know it has been subsumed into the NSW SHort West and Short South route. You could proceed the same way with the Illawara 3 route to see if it can be run on the SW & SS route.

As the years pass other interests, health issues or aging can reduce our time with MSTS. My time now with template making is very limited, pursuing other avenues and like many of our users, I am getting older but not giving up on template making, just on a slower pace.

Thanks
