You might want to try uninstalling the programs and then doing a reinstall. The programs generally install without any issues. If you still have trouble, you might want to email Steve to help you out. He would be able to help you directly if you still have issues. You might want to also read this thread regarding the run time 13 error.

Fear not, you never waste your money with us. If you can't get these to work on your machine for some reason, I will be happy to refund your money no questions asked. You need to send me an email direct to SteveDavis@skylinecomputing.com

It is not uncommon to see some errors in Activity Master, nearly all are traceable to problems with the rolling stock on your hard drive. The best fix is to use Route Riter and/or ConBuilder to correct all the consists and related files.

On the other hand an error in Activity Generator is nearly unheard of. I can't really "fix" this because I can't duplicate it on my machine - I don't get these errors.

I have had a few customers who just can't get these programs to run. One was a gentleman in the Phillippines. To this day I haven't figured out why - he sent me his whole TrainSimulator folder on a thumb drive and I ran the program on my own machine without errors. I think it was a problem with the file system on his PC.

What version of Windows are you running? XP? Vista? Windows 7? Do you use TrainStore?

Again, I WILL refund your purchase price, no problem with that. I used to help people remotely on line but I gave up that service as it was costing me $50 a month and very few people ever needed it. That said, when I did use it, I was always able to solve the user's problem.

I'd say first try using Activity Generator with some other route or template. If you don't get errors with that route, then it is clearly a problem with the route or rolling stock associated with it and not the program, then we can work on fixing that. Also same advice, try using Activity Master to replace rolling stock in a common activity in a default route like the Marias Pass route (USA2) to see if you get a different result.

I am very sorry to hear that you are having problems. As a programmer this is as frustrating to me as it is to you, since, I write these and test them and they work, yet, some users still have problems.

Please keep me posted as to how things go and if you try the various suggestions here.

Thanks and sorry,

Steve

Ive got it working better now, I read where people were getting errors by starting at locations that didnt have sidings. I have started all my previous activities at locations that had multiple starting points. Also, I found a few errors with some rolling stock I had downloaded to use with the Hereford Template.
Im going to play with it some more over the weekend and Ill report any errors I encounter when I run into them. Thanks for the reply

What I am wondering is is there a way to edit a template that I download from this website to edit the required rolling stock. There were 60 or so downloads with the Hereford template and Ive had several errors. Ive gradually fixed them but have a couple of cars that werent available for download anymore and have some gondola files that no matter what Ive done, dont want to work. Ive used Activity Master to change the rolling stock once I create an activity, but it still uses the cars that the template requires. Thanks

In order to change the cars, you would have to edit the template activity and the template itself. If you follow this link, it will give you some insight on what needs to be done for it to work correctly. http://skylinecomputing.com/forums/index.p...l=edit+template
