Hi to all,
I have decided to rework the San Diego & Arizona Template (SDA) project, done almost 15 years ago. It will actually be two template projects, one under the Southern Pacific (SP) Railroad (circa 1965) and the Union Pacific (UP) Railroad (circa 1996) the year UP took control of the SP. The SP template project includes WB and EB templates throughout all the network, through Carriso Gorge to the Mexican Border at Division and some switching inside the El Centro and Plaster City locations. As many of you know, in the 70' and 80's the line in the Carriso Gorge area suffered major damage and UP, in 1996 and later, made a local run from El Centro, servicing only the Plaster City area and return back to El Centro. So the 2 UP templates include a Plaster City local and a switching template in the EL Centro area. For all SP Templates inside the line to the gorge and beyond, all trains have no longer than 15 cars because of some short sidings along the route and gorge. For the UP templates, since the UP SB trains passing through El Centro reaches Calexico and across the Mexican Border at Mexicali, SB trains have a mexican (FNM or N de M) lead engine while for the NB from Mexicali it has a UP lead engine as you will see in some shots. Here are the shots from testing the numerous templates ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Testing is continuing and will post later as it develops -------------------- Denis Gionet
