Hi:

After 6 years in the making and 14 months for Rick Fransoza ( Valleypass\ZosaTrains ) to produce the PRR4 set the template is under way.

The template is 1950 era and Ricks rolling stock is held to that era along with a set from Christopher Parker "conductorchris" with reskins of Tim Muirs cars.

The engines and rolling stock are absolutely beautiful.

Rick and Christopher has passed me the rolling stock and a few engines while Rick is completing the rest of the engines.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with this route it is the largest route ever made. It has 4000 miles of track, 2500 sidings, 74 yards and covers 3 divisions.

This is a massive Template and will be a while in the making. It is comprised of at least 140 templates.

Hi Pete,

These numbers are staggering! ohmy.gif

My current template project, the Monon 16, won't even come close to these statistics.

I believe I have seen some of Rick's stock a while ago and was like always great.

Keep up the good work and let us know about its progress as it develops.

Hi Denis

I did the original Monon template a few years ago but with what Rick has done to it is outstanding.

It's one of those routes where you could run it for years and never get tired of it.

I am looking forward to see what you do with it.

Good luck,

Pete

The templates are coming along with 17 templates completed. These have been tested only for making activities and will be tested completly when done.

For those whose who have never seen this route Craig has the maps in the TS library http://www.trainsim.com/vbts/tslib.php?do=...t&fid=26035.

This is the largest map Craig has ever done with 460 pages.

An update on the PRR Eastern Template. The west bound templates are done, all 79 of them.

These templates still need "eye candy" and car strings in a few places. They are tested only as far as they make activities.

I will start the east bound templates after this weekend. Then there will be about 3 months of testing.

Hi Pete. I noticed that back in June you started a template for the NS Piedmont route. Did that ever get finished or did something happen that
you were not able to complete it? Thanks for all your hard work.Greg

Greg:

I put everything on hold when the PRR Eastern was ready to work on. The NS Piedmont route will be done at a later time.

The template is complete. I will package it up and send it to Benny who has agreed to test it.

I have purchased Rick's PRR 1950 set and its a beautiful set.

It fits well with the route.

Hello to all,

Following Pete's latest news, I have offered Pete to help with Benny to test the massive project and gladly agreed. A big thanks Pete for the privilege!

During testing, I will be posting some screenshots of activities generated from the templates.

I have finished successfully a first SLG-generated template last night between the Bayview and Edgemoor yards in about 2h15min

Just a reminder; Craig Kawahara's PRR map system is available in the TS site.

Here are some shots of the PRREB24 act.

Enjoy and more shots later

Denis,Benny:

I'm the one who should be thanking both you and Benny for your help with this project. I'm 71 and not in the best of health so when both of you gladly agreed to test this template it was a great relief for me.

The authorship of this project will be shared by all 3 of us and all 3 names will appear in the authors column.

I want thank all the members of this forum who are a very special group of people. There are no flame wars here, no ego trips and no nasty remarks or name calling. We can all be proud of this. The efforts of both Denis and Benny are a testimony to this. What really matters is that we provide quality templates for everyone to enjoy.

Let us not forget our host Steve Davis who has provided us with this forum to gather in.

Thanks to all.

Pete

Hi again,

Here are shots of the run from New York to Pittsburgh, done in 9 hours. It includes an interesting feature of the template: transfer of motive power from Electric to Diesel done at Enola. Work has been done at Thorndale, Lewiston, Huntingdon with the final destination at Pittsburgh.

The first eight shots:

The remaining shots,

I had news today that Pete is suffering from pneumonia and is being hospitalized. Hope you get well quick Pete!

For the time being, Pete had asked Benny and I to continue testing the templates, trying as best as possible to improve the template package before its release, its date is still to be determined.

One thing probably sure, not all templates are expected to be tested, due to the massive number of templates present in the package (near 150). We'll try to test the most important ones and once testing is done, it is expected to be released as is, with no reponsibility relative to issues coming with some of the templates.

But time will tell the outcome and hope that Pete recovers quick enough.

Yesterday, I had news from Pete and is back home after a short hospital stay.

Welcome back Pete!

Pete will be posting later for some development about the template package and possibly a release date.

In the meantine, I have completed another one, a short run, the PRREB17 between Harrisburg and Thorndale.

Here are some shots.

More to come later
