More that 15 years ago (Summer of 2007) was released the Wellsville, Addison & Galeton (WAG) route template. Six years ago, Moe Smith made some sidings enhancements on the WAG route. Thanks Moe for your enhancements on the route! I have decided to revisit the template project done in 2007 and has resulted in major changes and enhancements to the Template package. Four railroads will be part of this package; The ERIE, The New York Central (NYC) , The WAG and the Coudersport & Port Alleghany (C&PA) railroads.
The template package will include some oncoming motive power from the WAG and the C&PA. For the latter railroad, I have tried to find as close as possible the real thing; I have taken a 44-tonner from one of my earlier repaints. For the Caboose, I had to take a narrow-gauge caboose from the TS file library since the closest thing found was from this model.
The timeframe will be in 1958, the year the WAG received the last 132-ton (1,000 hp) diesels from Ford, making the complete 132-ton roster to seven (7). This is also the year the Sinclair Oil refinery was preparing a shutdown of its operations. There are 17 templates, all completed and will be tested before release. There are 100 serviceable sidings with the project.
Take note that along the route there are some very steep grades in many areas, up to 5%. For example, it will be recommended to have a maximum of 5 cars to run along the WAG for each 132-ton diesel, 10 cars for two diesels, etc.... For the C&PA, I suggest no more that two fully loaded cars and caboose. I have also boosted the C&PA 44-tonner from 400 to 500 HP to negotiate those steep 5% grades.
Since only one WAG 132-ton diesel (#1700) was available in the TS file library, I have worked to have the remaining six (6) renumbers ( #1200 to #1600 and #1800) available for the project. The six WAG engine pack is expected to be released in the TS file library in the near future. For the CP&A, ACE files for the caboose will be available with the package. For the 44-ton, It will include the entire folder to run it.
For some switching purposes in Galeton, I have included a 45-ton diesel, although one which ran on the WAG (a 50-ton) was removed in 1956.

The template package has been tested and is now ready for distribution. An 18th template has been added to the project, that is working inside the Sinclair Oil Refinery area.The readme file has also been completed. In the meantime, here are some shots from activities generated by AG:
