Hello to all,
As many of you know, the CP Mactier Sub was released last week in TS. The route also includes the entire Barrie-Collingwood (BCRY) short line between both cities. Only one engine is part of the BCRY roster, which is the BCRY 1001 GP9. Unfortunately, the engine was available nowhere among the MSTS downloads. Last Saturday, I have decided to try to create the GP9 for the BCRY. The newly BCRY 1001 has been successfully done and is now available in the Mophouse site as of today for download. Here it is: Also earlier this week, Ted Kocyla has enhanced the route with its texture upgrade. I wanted to finish the BCRY 1001 before going any further with plans to announce my intention to create a template. Now this and the texture upgrade are done, I am now ready to offer to create one for the route, if no one else has already started it. -------------------- Denis Gionet

Hello to all,
The Mactier templates are now complete and will now concentrate on testing the whole package. The whole package is now composed of six (6) Templates; The NB, SB, BCRY, YARDS, LOCALSNORTH and LOCALSSOUTH. I will send to the testers later the whole package to be tested. As expected for the LOCALS, I have encountered problems which I couldn’t resolve while having return paths because of the traffic trains stalling at some areas. I have decided to split them in two to have some moving traffic along the route. An unexpected problem gave me some additional headache: some of the sidings along the Bolton and the Weston areas have sharp curves on which sd40-2’s stalled on the curves and couldn’t go further. That forced me to add another major player in the downloads: Paul Fowler’s CP GP30’s available in the Mophouse site. They will be the player engines for the LOCALS, set as 3 engines (2250 hp each) to handle the loads (6700 hp total) . Being at least 3 meters shorter in length than the sd40-2’s, I have been able to handle the problem but will need some extra throttle to go through but at least worked it out in those areas. It will be important to keep all three engines together in those areas to ensure some extra power to negotiate these sharp curves. The known areas so far are in the Signet Tools (Weston) and the AFA forest products (Bolton). The LOCALS will involve some work between Lambton and the Spence Yards, bringing up empties to the Spence yards or taking from the same area full autoracks to Lambton. Also the LOCALS will handle mixed freight between Lambton and Bolton along the Sub. Some shots from the SLG-Generated templates: On the YARDS template inside the Vaughan Yards The GP30’s at Bolton working the AFA forest products area LOCALSSOUTH Template The LOCALSNORTH Template On the LOCALSSOUTH Template from the Spence Yards going South on a beautiful fall morning At Palgrave Will update its progress as testing continues -------------------- Denis Gionet
