Richard Shirey has been busy updating his wonderful Lehigh & Hudson River route. Version 3 includes some very nice updates (including zinc cars!) plus some additional industries. I have the beta route, and will load it up today to begin creation of a template. This one will be done with the same rolling stock as LHR2x, i.e. with era and region appropriate rolling stock, instead of the default mix. I am seriously considering using Gaetan's L&HR set as well.
No promises on a completion date. -------------------- Norman

LHR3 template is getting close. I see that the route is now posted to the t-s file library. I have a map almost ready, and will post it next week.

I have passed the final template to Steve. Look for it soon! Corollary to Murphy's Law: As soon as you pass a template to Steve, issues with the template WILL show up. Now, you who do not work with templates may not realize this, but frequently this exact thing happens. Steve can testify as to how many times we will pass him a template, only to have to fix it in the first few days. Sure enough, I thought that this template was working quite well. No sooner did I package it and send it off than one of the beta testers (Ralph -- THANK YOU!) discovered several odd things which need to be investigated and cleaned up. This should happen fairly quickly, so that the template should not be delayed more than a week. -------------------- Norman

Well, thanks in no small part to Ralph Wood's help, I have finally cleaned up the AG4 template for LHR3 to the point where I have passed the files to Steve.
Note that the route still has the prototypical APBS signals, which do not behave like the CTC which most of you have experienced on other routes. Please read the route author's documentation regarding signals, plus that which is included with the template. Once you get accustomed to these signals, you can successfully work activities (which include AI traffic) across this route. Enjoy! -------------------- Norman

Hi Norman,
Have just downloaded the above template and checking the stock revealed that there are a couple of items not listed. rrnecab.zip Reading GP7 # 627. This one I changed with one of the other 3 locos listed. Thanks for your great work and now I am looking forward to the Feather River Template and making some activities. Cheers' Cliff |

Hi Norman, I have just generated an activity for the L&HR and have noticed that the map of New Jersey Zinc at Franklin, page 4 has an error. The numbering is actually reversed, 1 as shown is the NJ Runner track. The true No 1 is missing from the map it is next to Palmer 2. I found the error when I did my setout and pickups on NJZ 1-4.
Thanks again for the help. Cheers Cliff |
