Hi to all

While working in the oncoming template for the Mactier Sub, I am trying to have the maximum of stack cars to be picked up at the Vaughan Intermodal Yard for Mactier ( capacity of 71 cars) as the final destination for the crew change . A path have been created which starts at the Vaughan Intermodal yard to reach Mactier.

All sidings in the Vaughan yard have been labelled industry sidings to avoid presence of other type of cars inside the facility.

The problem is that I can't get the maximum of cars (71 for the Mactier) except in two occasions out of a more than a dozen of attempts. Often, I get about half only of the cars hoped to pick up. I would like to minimize the number of sidings to be used to pick up the 70 cars wanted. As you can see in the following, the two sidings used for the pickup exceeds the maximum wanted. I can't select them as source tracks, they will be composed of different cars and not only stack cars.

These are the parameters set trying to have the maximum possible.

Any help will be welcome.

Denis,

This is interesting, it seems you did everything right. Is the problem that the program is filling the Mactier 1 yard track with cars but only asking you to pick up some of them (which would definitely be a bug)? Or is it only filling that track w/ fewer than 71 cars and asking you to pick up all of those?

Can you turn on the diagnostics, then generate the activity and email me the diagnostic file or post it to the forum? That file is really useful, it lets you look "under the hood" and explains each decision AG makes as it generates the switch lists.

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Steve,

Have re-generated the act with the same parameters (except the max is 70 rather than 99) as earlier and you will find as an attachment the SLG Diag file needed to check it out.

Thanks for looking into the issue
Attached File(s)
Attached File  SLGDiag.txt ( 20.55K ) Number of downloads: 206
