Hi all.. This just started today.-- make an act and get to the save screen and then the message - cannot locate "preamble.dat" .
I uninstalled and reinstalled AG and did the update, and this is still happening. The preamble.dat file is in the same directory as "switchlist generator" I also placed a copy in the Train Simulator directory and the route directories I was working on - LaJunta and AU-SA Adelaide Hills.
None of these actions work.
This happened to me about a year ago as well, and a reinstall fixed it, but this time - no change..... any help, advice or direction will be appreciated'' Thanks Ted

I was using a copy of the slg. exe in a desktop file wherein I keep all my train "stuff". This is where I was trying to make acts, and getting the above response. I went to the Program Files - Switchlist Generator file and used the slg.exe from there, and it worked- no error message. Can't figure that one, but problem solved.

Yes, sorry the software is programmed to store "Preamble.dat" there. Glad you got it sorted!

Rather than copying the executable, I would just create a shortcut, for Activity Generator, and place it on the Desktop. You can pretty much put shortcuts anywhere. In a few routes I have one in the \activities folder since it makes it easier for me when I do my own style of editing. They all work without any problems.
