Help,
I must be getting rusty.

I'm working on a new template and when I open it up it tells me it is an old style template. Every thing works and I can select regons and tracks and the activity functions ok.

Is it because I only have one path defined or did forget to define something in another file?

This is new route and new template with the current revision of AG.

Thanks in advance.

Peter

The .pro file is missing. With only one path, AG will not create a .pro file. You can do so manually. Simply study the .pro file from another route, and you will see how easy it is. Once you have the .pro file in the ACVITITIES folder, AG will be happy.

Norman,
Like I said I'm getting rusty, all the other routes have done had multi paths so I didn't see the flag. I was going to add addtional paths this week end and then everything should look fine.

Thank you and have a good weekend.

Hi Norm and Peter,

In my oncoming CN Bala template, one of my templates (SB) has only one path, due to the absence of additional yards other than the MacYard and was able to create a pro file. As long as there are multiple defined regions (in the SWLTDB file) along the single path, a pro file could be created. As for another template (MacYardarea) covering the MacYard only (only one region and no actual path), it was necessary to copy the pro file from the NB template and suppress the extra regions not expected to be used in the template. Of course don't forget to rename the copied pro file.

hope this helps
cheers

Denis,

That is one way to fix it. The .pro file is quite a simple file, but is crucial to accurately defining the regions serviced by a path. For some reason if a template has only one path, the option to assign regions doesn't even come up in AG. Perhaps Steve can fix this simply.

Another way to fix it easily is to take the one path and duplicate it, slightly renaming it. Then the option will come up, and you can assign regions to the real path. Save the .pro file, then go back and delete the duplicate path from the activity template AND from the .pro file.

Norman / Denis,
Thanks for your feed back.
Adding the addtional paths took care of the problem. Only one minor glitch: I had mistakenly made a path with out the XxxxxTemplate format leaving the word template and the path from the discription.
This caused a blank (null) line in the PRO file that had to be editied out for it to work. Later after I added some addtional paths and the blank line showed up again I then deleted the non-std named path and the problem is gone.

Nice detective work! I hadn't considered the need for .pro files for single path templates, I'll need to update AG to make this easier -- basically it will create a .pro file no matter how many paths there are.

Thanks for your perseverance in working around this!

Steve
