Hello to all,

I have started working on a new template, one for the recently released Monson route from Christian Schroeder. Pete gave me the scoop about its release and appreciate him for telling me about it.

In the Monson readme file, we can read the following about the route:

"This MSTS-route is based on the Monson Railroad which was operated from 1883 to 1945 between Monson Junction and the city of Monson in Piscatequis County in Maine/USA. Itwas built in the gauge of 2 feet which is quite uncommon for the US and just was used in the state of Maine. (...) Although it had an intense passenger traffic with 5 trains daily the main purpose of the route was hauling slate from the famous slate-pits of Monson. Never the less it never proved as a financial success as it was greatly indepted because of the bonds which had to be issued for its construction. Despite this the route managed to be the last two-footer in the USA to close down in 1945.

Two templates are now finished and am considering possibility for a third one.

In the meantime, I am including shots from the first part of a SLG-generated activity for one depicting work between the Boyd Lumber yards and the remote logging areas in Moores and Lily Pond areas. In this one the engineer must bring from remote areas log cars to be brought to the Boyd lumber mill to be processed producing lumber for export. Reaching the logging areas have steep grades and switchbacks are required to reach the remote location of Lily Pond logging camp.

Enjoy the shots

Hi to all,

The Monson templates are finished and have done some testing with all three templates. I may do some more testing and will start shortly the readme file and then release the whole package.

Uncoupling cars from the engine will get some used to since it doesn't seem like I've seen in most stock. Maybe it's all about working with steam engines.

When preparing to uncouple the car or string of cars from the engine,

1-Make sure you set the loco and train brakes first.

2-Once your cars disappear on the F9 screen, set your reverser at 25 or -25 and your throttle at minimum ( around 30)

3- Then release your loco brake and your train brake at last. Once done your loco should stert moving and separating from the car.

I mention this here because I had this problem with uncoupling the car next from the engine and couldn't resolve. I have looked at some topics but took some time to figure out the proper procedure.

I believe this is the proper way to uncouple the car next to the engine

Here are some screenshots from all three templates SLG- generated acts depicting work from the logging area to the Boyd yards , inside the Boyd yards and from Monson to Monson Jct.

Will update later

Just to confirm that the template package has been sent to Steve earlier today for uploading.

In the meantime, here are some of the last images captured during testing and am including the image that should appear in the templates page.

Will confirm when done
