First of all, I need to know how to reply without starting a New Topic - - sorry. Path for Train Simulator: C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Train Simulator/Trains/Trainset Path for template: C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Train Simulator/Train Station/Route Control/downloaded_routes FLR To reply, simply hit the "reply" button towards the bottom of the message. Thanks to your response I can see now what the problem is. I am not sure I understand what "Train Station" and "Route Control" are but it sounds like your template is not installed where it should be. AG is looking for a "ROUTES" subfolder and not finding it. The template and all of it's files should be stored in your \ROUTES\BoDiddly\ACTIVITIES\ folder. Unzip or copy all your template files to there (where your route should be) and it will work. OR are you saying that the Ohio Rail route itself is actually IN this /Route Control/Downloaded_routes folder? If so I'm afraid I don't understand how Route Control works and it's possible some features of Activity Generator won't work with it, at least not the current version? I may have to take a look at your directory structure live on line. I have a service that allows me to do that, all you have to do is long on to a web site. If we can't resolve this here on the forum I'll send you instructions for logging on to that site later this evening when I get home from work (I am in the Central time zone, US, and will be home around 6 pm Central time). Thanks,My own problem is that I jumped in MSTS too fast and bought several programs where I should have concentrated on AG. Here is the complete listings for MSTS: Train-Simulator 1033 Fonts Global Gui Help Route Geo… ROUTES Europe1 Europe2 Japan1 Japan2 Paths Tutorial USA1 USA2 SAMPLES SOUND TEMPLATE TRAINS Consists Trainset 310 380 (lists all of the engines and ends with) US2Woochipper I have removed all of the other programs, so the folders above are the ones that I originally installed. Again, thanks for your help. Fred Steve |

Thanks,My own problem is that I jumped in MSTS too fast and bought several programs where I should have concentrated on AG. No problem. But the list you showed me doesn't include Conrail Indy in your ROUTES folder. So first you'll need to install the route, and it needs to go in the ROUTES folder of \Train Simulator. Then install the template. Also forgive me referring to this route as Bodiddly earlier. I was helping another user with the Ohio Rail route which goes in the \Bodiddly folder and I got you two mixed up. Anyway, first install a route and make sure it works, WITHOUT using Activity Generator to generate an activity. Just use the "Explore Route" option or try and run one of the activities included with the route (if any). If you can't run the route then you won't be able to use Activity Generator on it either so you'll first need to work with the route author or do your own detective work to get the route working. Next, once the route works, install the AG template. You can usually do that by unzipping the template into your \Train Simulator folder and saying "yes" to overwrites, or, by unzipping the template and then copying the \ACTIVITIES, \PATHS, \TRAFFIC and \SERVICES folders into the route's main folder (in this case I think it's crindy2 but I'm not sure). Next copy the \CONSISTS into your \TRAINS folder. Then read the docs that came with the template and download and install any rolling stock needed to run the template. There usually are some downloads required. Most can be found at www.train-sim.com If they can't be found there, the template author will usually tell you where you can find them. Then after you've downloaded and installed the rolling stock, you can use Activity Generator to generate activities for the route. Thanks, Steve Thanks, Steve -------------------- Steve Davis
