I just installed Trainstore and want to make sure what the correct procedure is when creating new acts. with AG. Do I need to have Trainstore in maintenance mode before I can use AG.

What about AM, the manual just says you need to unstore everything. Unstore everything and maintenance mode do different things.

Please clarify what is the correct procedure when using these two utilities. T.I.A.

AG and AM work fine w/ TrainStore, I use them together myself. With AG, the only problem is, AG templates use multiple paths, and TrainStore will store all the paths in a route except those referenced in activities. But the template activity only calls for one of those paths. So you need to set up 'Explore Mode Paths' in TrainStore. This is explained in detail on our web site under 'Known Issues'. You can jump directly to the detail of how to deal with this by going to http://www.skylinecomputing.com/issue_with..._trainstore.htm

As for AM, I thought the manual says to unstore that whole ROUTE, not "Unstore Everything". However if you want to use (substitute with) other rolling stock not in the current route then you SHOULD "Unstore Everything" -- that guarantees that you will have all rolling stock available both for the activity and for the substitution. You can "unstore everything" and then use AM and then store everything but that route, or even everything but the activity you just worked on with AM. I am not sure about 'maintenance mode', I am not sure exactly what that unstores.

Thanks,

Steve
