I have worked a template project for the Rattlesnake Desert fictional route, for which no template has been done. Some changes have been done to make this template project possible.
There are three templates for this route. Two locals (EB & WB) and one switching template inside the Industrial Park area. I have created sidings to have this template project done. Switching in the Industrial park area can take up to two hours and will need some maneuvering since not all sidings are oriented in the same direction.
The timeframe is around the mid sixties (60's) and is a double track route. For the purpose of this project, traffic is very high on this Union Pacific desert route and is part of the mainline between Chicago and Los Angeles. Union Pacific's City of Los Angeles passes along this section of track.
Unexpectedly, there has been a few gravel cars that derailed and spilled its cargo. Consequently, WB trains will have to be rerouted ( for a few miles ) to the South track and face a slow order to pass the maintenance area, putting these cars back on track and also repair the damaged track after their removal.
