Hi folks. I seem to have an odd problem. When I am into the activity editors the error comes up with GNHL main EB .con and the same for the west bound con. and kicks me back to the desk top. According to the editors these are missing. I ran the route through route riter and conbuilder with no errors ,nothing missing. The template runs ok and makes acts so I was woundering if the editors are looking for earlier files form a previous template and got deleted. The con files did not come with the latest template. Thanks for your help. Greg

These might be left over from earlier activities.

If you are using only the AG template for activities, then you can hide the ACTIVITIES, TRAFFIC and SERVICES folders in a new folder called HIDE (or whatever name you like). Then create new ACTIVITIES, TRAFFIC and SERVICES folders in the GNHiline route folder. Next, install the GNHiline template again into MSTS, which should insert the proper traffic, service and activity files into those folders. The problem should be gone.

If you are also using other (non-AG) activities, then you can use ConBuilder to check all the other activities in the GNHiline ACTIVITIES folder. You should be able to find which ones are calling for these consists. At that point you can either use CB to create these consists, or you can delete those activities.

Thanks for the reply Norman. The act files for the east/west main template are in the act folder. But the con files that go with them are not. I think what has happened is that I deleted the previous template files before installing the latest template which needed the two con files. Anyway the template seems to work o.k. without them. I just use the editors to check the trackage in spots that are confusing to me. Maybe someone reading this will post the two files to me. Thanks for your time and help. Thankyou and others that make and post templates for all of the routes as without them I would likely gave up the sim a long time ago .Greg.

I am a little puzzled. I have no consists called GNHL main EB .con or GNHLmainWB.con and I don't get any errors. I DO have a consist called GNHLMainEBTemplatePlayer.con which is used in both the WB and EB templates.

Here's what I think may have happened. When you generate activities you can create your own consists (change your engines, caboose, etc.) You may have done that and the consist you created got named as you describe. I am attaching the actual default template consist to this email. If this isn't what you need, then note the exact spelling of the missing consist file, and then rename this file to that name, plus open the file with a text editor and change the text for the "Name" between the parenthesis to the new name. For example the name field is now Name ( GNHLMainWBTemplatePlayer )

Assuming you wanted GNHL main EB .con (if there really are spaces in it you need to enclose the name in quotes) so you would have

Name ( "GNHL main EB .con" )

And of course name the file the same way.

If you aren't comfortable editing these text files (I use WordPad to do it) you can open the file in ConBuilder and save it as a new name and ConBuilder will take care of the Name field for you.

I hope this helps. Bottom line is, basically you need to create a consist with the consist name that the editor keeps saying is missing.

Thanks,

Steve

Thanks Steve for the help. All files are where they are supposed to be .Apparently after I generated the first act is when the errors showed up. I went into conbuilder and opened the east and west con files and saved them and the errors disappeared. I guess you learn something every day. As I said the template worked fine , But it was the activity editor that was giving me a hard time. Thank much for tour help. Greg
