Hi to all,
I am actually looking into the Clinton sub to find out if I could be able to make a template for the route. It is an awesome task with all these sidings and if possible, I do intend to relive it under the C&NW ownership. There are enough good CNW downloads to consider such project. Has anyone ever considered to build it before? I am a bit surprised that there is no template for it. Any feedbacks are welcome. Denis -------------------- Denis Gionet

Denis, The Clinton Sub is on my list, but my list is very long, so I probably won't get to it until 2010. If you have any inclination to do this route, PLEASE DO!!! -------------------- Norman

Hello to all,
I have started working on a new Clinton sub template. It is a huge work ahead because of the many sidings and the configuration on the route and with the branch going to Cedar Rapids. I do intend to relive the C&NW era and to give realism, I may use up to 10 extra downloads, other than the default stock; most are C&NW,all from TS-com, except for the main player engines, the CNW sd40-2's from Dieselswest. Remember that the player engines can be changed for those who do have not these engines. There are many types of industries which need some variety in the rolling stock, hence the reason for that many downloads, from grain hoppers, gondolas to tankers cars and autoracks, etc. I am working on the WB first and am now in the Cedar Rapids area which will be a challenge to set the pickups and setouts. I have no deadline to its completion, but will work hard to build a great template and to make relive the C&NW era. Denis -------------------- Denis Gionet

Hi everybody, Here's an update to the work in progress for the Clinton sub. The eastbound and westbound templates are done. Everything looks OK so far. However the templates don't include the Cedar Rapids area. This will be dealt during my third template that will cover exclusively the Cedar Rapids area, including the CRANDIC line and the Beverly yard . Lot of switching in this area. Remember that the whole Clinton sub route has more that 360 sidings. A fourth template should cover exclusively the Clinton and East Clinton area. I am also considering EB and WB templates between the two main yards between East Clinton and The Cedar Rapids Yard. Denis -------------------- Denis Gionet

Hello to all,
The Clinton sub template package is now finished and has been sent to Steve for approval. There has been lots of work on it and frustrating moments in creating it but proud of its outcome. The template will allow the C&NW to relive and for those C&NW fans out there, I believe you will enjoy very much this template. There are EB and WB templates with 10 paths total for both templates. More than 200 sidings to work on each direction. Lots of work and challenges ahead for the serious switching addict! Denis -------------------- Denis Gionet

Sounds like a good candidate for Gaetan's CNW loco super pack! I may quit doing templates and start creating activities on all these great routes. -------------------- Norman

(nbeveridge) Sounds like a good candidate for Gaetan's CNW loco super pack! I may quit doing templates and start creating activities on all these great routes. Hi Norm, I did get Gaétan's CNW super pack and am enjoying it a lot, making substitutes of engines with AM. It is a great set to get. More than 210 megs of stuff for this great package; C628's C625's RS engines, F models(with commuter cars) and even S4's with CNW grain and coal hoppers included! A great route, a great pack, a template to complete the package and some time passages into the fifties and sixties! Just great to experience! Denis -------------------- Denis Gionet
