I'm sorry about your frustration. This is baffling. It almost sounds like you have a different install or something so AG is creating the activity in a different folder.

To find out for certain, remember (or write down) what you name your activity when you create it using AG. Then use Start then Search then click "all files and folders" and see where this activity is. If it isn't where you expect it to be, that's the problem. When starting Activity Generator make sure you use the Open window to pick where the route really is. It sounds like the activity is there but you just can't find it.

If the activity is in the right place and it just won't load, post it here and Norm or I will take a look at the .act file and see if we can figure out what is wrong with it. While there can be problems with downloaded rolling stock that keep an activity from running correctly (usually resulting in "send/don't send", rolling stock issues will never cause an activity to simply not display at all.

Good luck, keep us posted.

Steve, just a thought here. Does our friend also have the standard L&HR route as well? If so, has he chosen the proper one to develop the activity for, accidentally mixing the two up. It is easy to do in the selection box when picking the route to generate an activity for.

I am sorry about your frustration. I am traveling and not sure what I can do remotely. It sounds like you don't have all the files in the right place. If all you saw was an ags file then Activity Generator is creating all the activity files in the wrong place (it will create them from wherever the template activity was stored). So if you saved or unzipped the template to a different MSTS install or a different folder, then AG is creating the activity in THAT folder not the actual MSTS folder where you run this particular route from (some users have separate folders or MSTS installs for various routes).

Per your other email send directly to me, you can't run the activity, you just get a blank screen and Send/Don't Send. It sounds like you may have tried manually copying the activity over to another MSTS install (you mentioned all you had was an .ags file which is the save file). If so then if you didn't copy all the consists, services, traffic etc. you will get exactly the result you described. Maybe in the template we didn't name the route folder properly so it is unzipping to another folder instead of the same folder the actual route is in? If so that would be our error, but to fix you should copy all the files into their respective folders in your real install of MSTS and in the correct route's folder. Norm may be able to help more with this as the author of the template.

My advice is to make sure you are generating activities in the same folder that you actually run this route from. Are you having any other problems with templates for other routes?

Thanks and sorry,

Steve
