Now that Bob Wirth has put out his patch for the Glorieta Pass route, which includes corrections to the industry and yard track markers, it will now be possible to make a template for this route. I will put it on my list, but of course if anyone else wants to give it a go, then have at it!

If no one has started Glorieta Pass yet, I should be able to start something within the next couple of weeks. Jim |

Jim, I am currently working on Phoenix Sub, and have several others I will work before I could get to Glorieta. If you want to start this one, I know the AG users would greatly appreciate it. I assume that you will set this up for AG4!?!! -------------------- Norman

Hi Norman, It will be for AG4. AG4 gives us so many more options for switching. I'm currently finishing up Freeware Cajon Pass for AG4 by adding a few things for some passenger train switching. Jim |

Just a bit of an update on my progress. All the cars have been placed on the sidings and yard tracks. I am now in the process of putting together the regions. This part hasn't gone as quickly as planned. Some tracks had identical markers placed a few times in some regions. I had to filter out the ones that were not being used. Now a question for potential users. I got some info from Bob Wirth regarding the shops near the Abajo yard. One of the shops did work on maint. equipment. Would anyone be interested in having some MOW equipment in the mix? I haven't seen too much ATSF pieces at Train Sim, but could fill it with some others for MOW activities. Is there any interest? You could use old (40') ATSF box cars, flats, gons, etc., for MOW equipment. Just label it as such in the SWLACT*.csv file.

Jim, I have the CNJ shop area on the new template I'm working on but i'm using an EL flat car set for work cars and you have to zoom in close to see they are EL flats. There are 4 cars I use one has wheel sets, one with rail and one with a boxcar that is off the trucks these 3 are marked as MOW and one empty flat marked FMT. I have one siding set for cars wanted as MOW and the outgoing car as FMT and a second with the pickups /setouts set in reverse and the activity works slick. I know from looking on train-sim.com there are other sets for these cars done up for other roads, some may be close to the ATSF or share trackage and you could justify the odd road that they are on loan due to the summer work blitz. Thanks Peter and Norman. I have a couple of the flats with wheelsets I could use. I didn't give much thought to 40ft boxcars and such. They would look right for MOW equipment. I haven't seen any of those cars in any trains besides MOW runs. Funny thing, I live just off the Soo/CP line in Chicago. On the way home I saw one train come thru with a few old Milwaukee Road Geeps and SD's still in orange and black hauling some battered Milwaukee box cars. Jim |

Progress Update
My progress has been a bit slow lately due to my work travel. The Eastbound template has been completed and tested. Traffic patterns were a bit challenging. I hope that what I have working will be good enough. It can be a bit unpredictable given each persons switching abilities combined with many miles of single track and passing sidings. I am currently working on the Westbound template. I hope to have that complete this week. You should see this template within the next couple of weeks. This route by Bob Wirth will offer many hours of switching and mainline running. Almost forgot. Since there is no map available for this route currently, I have created and Excel spreadsheet that lists what sidings are available for each path. Otherwise, it would be quite difficult to figure out what siding is on what path. I'll also convert them into rtf format. Jim |

Hello to all,
I just sent the Glorieta Pass template off to Steve for posting. I hope that everyone enjoys it as much as I did creating it. Regards, Jim |
