Full Version: GN Hiline v3.4 Template Missing Consists
Skyline User's Forum > > Templates

Hi All;

While trying to generate an EB activity, the program would go through all the steps then crash when I tried to run the activity. The same thing occurred during a WB try. Upon investigating, I saw that there were no WB consists in the consist folder. That is the same folder that is in the revised template presently available in the template section. I talked briefly to Steve about this problem but have had no reply. Rather than bother Steve just yet, could someone that has the complete consist package please forward it to me so that I can make a positive assessment before alerting Steve to this problem.

Many thanks

It is going on a month now since my original query about the WB template and I was wondering if anyone has tried to run same. If you were successful then you have the WB consists and I will inform Steve that the WB consists are indeed missing.

Moe,

I just stopped by these forums today and saw your question. Better late than never??? I run Michael's VERSION 3.4 ( The latest release available of GN HiLine). Steve's Template (Updated 9/15/2007 NEVER worked with the GN_HiLine Route Version 3.4 but did work with earlier versions up through Version 3.3. Back in the MSTS days I did a 'No-No' and substituted the Version 3.3 .TDB for the actual 3.4 TDB and did use Steve's Template without any problems for years! When OpenRails came along I continued to happily build activities with this template for OR until about 9 months ago. About this time, something in OpenRails changed and it would no longer accept my bogus .TDB. After some head scratching, I determined the track changes in the area between Shelby and Cut Bank were the cause of the problems. I have since used the Path Editor part of the OR Track Viewer Utility to Correct all the Template Paths that run through this area. Now all runs smoothly in OR again and I am Generating new Activities on this wonderful route for the latest OR Testing Version (X3594). If you are interested, I'm fairly sure I could .ZIP up the corrected paths.
Just a little aside here, if I may? I am really pleased and impressed with the RMD-West, I downloaded and installed! Thank you, thank you & thank you. There are some terrific people around in this 'TrainSim World'. . .
