Full Version: B&O West End route

Hi to all,

Earlier this Summer, I have decided to give the incomplete, but excellent, B&O West End route by Chris Van Wagoner ( aka longiron at TS) a new life by considering a template project. Using Chris' topic in TS and from other sources online, I have created sidings for the entire route, being as close to the real thing and optimizing the route's potential for this template project. Once done, I have started working the project and is now complete. Please read carefully the README file for details to make it work.

Here are 10 shots taken from activities generated by AG:

Hi again,

Forgot the 10th image, the template image to be included with the package:

Is the B&O West End route available somewhere? I do not find it on Trainsim.com but their new search engine requires the full name of the route or the file name.

Hi Dave,

You have to look up at the Incomplete routes section to find two files related to the B&O West end route.

Thanks Denis.

Beautiful work you do. Seems everything done now is overseas routes. I have had MSTS since it was released and stick with USA/Canada routes, running ORTS now.

I'm unable to locate the download on the Templates page. Was this ever released?

Thank you

Hi KB,

Became available last September. Because of upload issues in the templates pages for some time now, I have decided to send the templates upon request.

You can write me at my Email, indicated above and will be happy to send you the template package to enjoy.

Thanks

Hi to all,

I have created an extension of the package by adding two templates in Grafton and Keyser, using the newly working turntables and adding sidings inside the roundhouses at both locations.

Make sure you have already the B&O West End Template original package installed in your Train Simulator folder where your route is located.

You can e-mail me at photoman_57 (at) hotmail (dot) ca to receive the extension package.

Denis, since you created this template, the route has now been finished and released.

It looks like you went through the route and named the sidings? Do I have that right? I am wondering if the recently released finished route has named sidings, if they by some fortune match the names you created. Perhaps I'll have to dig in to answer this, but I thought you might just know.

Where I'm getting at, of course, is just how compatible the templates you made are with the route as released this spring 2025.

thanks
Christopher

Hi Chris,

Let me refer you to a couple of posts I have replied about the same question, starting June 3rd about the update and the template package from the earlier version.

Hope this will answer your question.
