Using Train Store -Unstored Everything. Made new activity using template emrr south bound (also tried one North Bound). Activity starts ok and got all cars hooked up - then started south and no switches would work -either going into a siding or trying to back in. This happens in every town along the way. Went out of act. and made all switches "manual", back in re-saved and restarted and switches still won't work???? Anyone else having this problem?? Any fix??
Norm ? Steve? Help (I like the route but this is frustrating)..

Are you sure that you waited until AG had reset the track switches to manual? I have experienced selecting the change, and then exiting too soon, i.e. before the final message comes up (there are two). In this case, if the final message does not come up on the screen, then the change has not been made. It is not instantaneous, and can take quite a few seconds.

Also, when we tested this template, we found no track switches which would not reset.

Do you have the latest version of AG?

Yes - both messages came up. This happened using both NB and SB templates. I have Version 4.2.11 of AG is that current??
This is not a one time thing or I wouldn't have bothered you. It is ongoing- 3-4 tries. Don't know what else to try.

Do you have other templates which work correctly? Do you have other routes where the track switches will convert to manual? Have you tried them (templates and track switch conversion) since you have had this trouble with EMRR2?

One thing you might try is to change the switches to manual, then reverse your train, then change direction again and see if the switch now works. Sometimes doing this causes MSTS to re-read the track database.

Otherwise, I wonder if your copy of EMRR is in some other folder, or you have two copies, so that the switches are being changed to manual in an EMRR route, but not the one you're running?

As Norm asked, are you able to change switches to manual successfully in other routes?

Thanks,

Steve

Hi guys - thanks for trying to help.. Here we go....
Using AG, made act starting in Titan. Following work order, picked up on sidings 5 to 8 and waited for a northbound AI to pass. switches on these sidings worked. After AI, picked up the cars on siding 1 to 4, and headed south. Had pu's and setouts at intermodal yard at Titan south. 1 st switch would not open, so went on south to last switch and tried to back in - switch wouldnt open. saved - made all switches manual, went back in and still wouldnt work. Passed by and went on to Madison. Tried to enter 1st switch, wouldnt work, met a northbound in the siding and went on to south switch at bridge. Tried to back in - switch wouldnt work. Aborted act. deleted act and redid the generator (3 times) and everytime the same thing happened. Tonite I opened the "Metropolis Greetings 1" act that came with the route. All switches worked in the sidings and on the main line until I came to the southernmost cross-over, from the main line to the main line - (on the map follow the route in from Titan City South to the left-to-right crossover. thats the one). Switch would not turn. Went out and redid the switches to manual - back in and still wont open. Therin lies the problem and cant figure out an answer. Haven't had this trouble with any other route and have made switches manual on Ohio Valley route and Dundas CN route many times.
Also get message-- template calls for car type- "GRHE" and in another instance car type- "CK" and have neither on my HD and cant generate an act when this happens. Can this be changed?

Thanks for listening to my prob.

Arrgh . . . the GRHE error is a typo. I will send a replacement template to Steve to correct this. But so far I cannot find the CK.

I have posted the updated/fixed template today. Thanks for catching this and thanks Norm for fixing it!
