Hi all wink.gif ,

Firstly I'd like to thank Denis, Pete, Steve and everyone else involved in putting together the great Templates we get to download here.
I have really enjoyed the Hungarian, Romanian and Italian routes that have had Templates created. I find the detail in these type of routes is very well done.

Just wondering if any thought may have been given to Templates for some of the very fine Spainish routes found over at Trensim.com e.g. Utrera Moron de la Frontera or Valladolid Ariza y Soria please? I have only ever run Utrera Moron de la Frontera but have found limited activities for it. Like most Spainish routes, the attention to detail is remarkable.
Hope someone can help.
Cheers,

Hi Damo,

Glad you are enjoying the templates for our international routes. Some of the routes are extraordinarily detailed and I enjoy using them.

I have, last month taken some look inside trensim.com to have a look at some Spanish routes. There is one of the routes that I have tested, but not thoroughlly since I was absorbed by some of my other projects. I will take a much closer look inside trensim and try to have one sorted out for a template. Will take into consideration some of the suggestions and may try to reload the one that I have downloaded. Can't remember the name of the route, a small one. Looked OK for a template, to what I remember.

Will put this one among my next projects. I am putting the finishing touch into reworking the British Steyning route, my first international route template released close to 2 years ago. Then I will have a look again into some of the Spanish work.

Cheers

Denis;

The Utera Moron route is likely a good candidate for a template. A smaller route but the sidings are marked and nice scenery. You make the templates and I will attempt drawing the maps. Just let me know which route so I can get a head start. I have all the Spanish routes at hand so that should not be a problem.

Gidday Denis and Moe,
Thanks very much for your quick reply to my enquiry. The Utrera de la Frontera route would definitely be a great one for a template. The rollingstock and the route itself are highly detailed.

Moe, can I ask which of the Spanish routes you have is your favourite?
Thanks again chaps.

Hi Damo and Moe,

I can now confirm that the route tested earlier was indeed the Utrera-Moron route and was suitable for a template. I am gathering the rolling stock for the route and should start soon making the template, once the Steyning is finished. That should be probably next week.

Will update later

Damo;

I do not remember any of the routes off hand as I have none loaded at this time. I do, however, keep a chart of all routes rating them for scenery, appeal, complexity etc., etc . and the top 4 are Bilbao, Estrecha en Asturias, Mora la Nova and Utrera - Moron (Hispalis).

Cannot talk any longer, I have a set of maps to draw.

Hi to all,

I have started to gather information and stock for the template but am a little puzzled with the following: I believe RENFE used brake vans in the early 70's like the first image shown below but can someone tell me what was the purpose of the small cabins in some cars like the ones on the second image? In the absence of brake vans were they the ones to put at the end of any consists?

Thanks for your help.
