Full Version: Sidings without markers

Hello Steve:

I was wondering if there is a work around for using Activity Generator on some routes that may not have all the siding markers in place? I'm considering attempting to do activity templates for the Greater Toronto Area v1.5. The problem with this route is on the Halton Sub (and other locations) sidings are not identified.

The only thing I could think of was to go into route editor, add the markers myself, then go back to a previous backup. I want to make sure that the activities and templates work with the official release.

Thanks

Sean

Sean,

I don't think AG would work correctly without the siding markers. The markers are the coded into the Track database, which AG uses when creating Track CSV file. Also, I believe Train Simulator would behave strangely without that information, if in a case you removed the references. I have created a few pickup events on tracks, but TS always askes you to put some location ID in when doing so.

It won't work, sorry. We have encountered this in routes before and have reached out to the route author to obtain permission to add the siding markers in a separate update file. Some on this forum have done that, you do have to be able to use the Route Editor. Basically edit the whole route and add markers where needed, then sort all the files in the route and zip anything that was modified the day you started doing this or later, as the "patch".

Thanks,

Steve
