I'm not sure what the exact limit is, but you are probably at that point. AG only needs one pickup event in the Template activity to function properly. I've actually have done my templates in sections. I keep a master file that I will use for the template that has only the one event. I may do 50 pickup events and then create an Activity CSV file. Save it to another location and then keep going. I then cut and paste the events into one Activity CSV file that I will eventually use. This may seem a bit much, but it gives me the opportunity to work in sections and allows me to open the activity without crashing the system.
Jim
Jim's advice is sound. I am not sure that there is an exact number. On some routes it seems that 70 is safe, on others I get a crash at 60. My trend is to stay below 60, and Jim's suggestion to use about 50 should work.
What Jim fails to mention, though, and maybe it is obvious to everyone else but me, is that after creating the SWLACT*.csv file and saving it to another location, you need to delete the pick up events out of the template activity file before adding more.
With this method you can theoretically have infinite pick up events for your template (in the SWLACT), but never more than 60 or 70 in the actual .act file. As Jim says, you really only need one in the actual template activity file.
