Hello everyone,

I have started working on a template for the Dogskill route, a route which was released... in 2002.

Despite being an older route, Moe Smith told me of this route recently and I wasn't really aware of the potential this route had. Thanks Moe for telling me about this good route, quite ahead of its time.

When looking at it and testing it, I wanted to work a template. Evenmore, Moe had received permission from Wolfgang Fobbe, the route's author to make an upgrade by adding names to some missing sidings. Combined with some tweaking by the user (for personal use of course) with more recent textures and terrain files, it is a different ball game and believe, once this template is done, this route will deliver.

The Dogskill route contains about 150 serviceable sidings. The templates that expected to emerge are the mainline EB and WB templates, the LOCALS templates, the YARDS templates and also a LOCO template, one that will allow transfer of diesel motive power inside the diesel loco shops in Kohlmein, Coldbud, Sillycone Dale and Waitalot. I have finished the WB template and will resume with the other templates before testing.

The Dogskill Co. Railroad has been for some years now property of Union Pacific and the only remaining relics of the former railroad are some GP9's and cabooses, still serviceable if needed.

A maximum of 15 downloads will be needed to use the templates.

The main motive power on the mainline WB, EB and LOCALS are Lou Volland's excellent SD40's and GP35's from Union Pacific. The YARDS and LOCO templates will be serviced by purple-colored MP15's recently purchased by UP from the Union RR (Not to be confused with Union Pacific), still waiting to be painted in UP colours. Also still serviceable for yard and loco shops work are some of the Dogskill Co RR GP9's. Cabooses from UP and Dogskill Co.are also used for rear-end protection.

So that's it and will resume work. In the meantime, I have captured some screenshots inside the Canyon area while testing for the very first time the route.

Enjoy the shots and will update later

The WB and EB templates are now finished and will start working on the LOCALS. SLG-generated activities were successfull on both directions.

Hi to all,

The Dogskill route templates are now finished and have started testing the different templates (EB, WB. LOCALS, YARDS and LOCO) and paths.

I am including some shots of the SLG-generated activities being tested, here from the EB, LOCO and LOCALS.

An additional download had been added, that is a 400 HP Union Pacific 44-tonner. It will be the player engines for the LOCO template. Of course the player can swap to the MP15 if desired. the 44 tonner will handle all diesel engines movements inside the Loco shops in Kohlmein, Coldbud and Sillycone Dale.

The shots.

More updates to come laterr as testing progresses

Hello,

Continuing testing the templates, especially the LOCALS, which have the most paths among all templates. In some areas, like in Kohlmein, the user may need to ajust the graphic sliders to avoid crashes as it occured during testing.

Here are some shots, all but one (YARDS) from the LOCALS template

More updates to come
